Fun, fun, fun!

Another field trip with the preschool class. Pony rides, wagon rides, crafts... What fun!

Patrick, Andrew and Stella take a turn on the cart with the mini.

Chickens! The kids got to throw bread into the pen which made the chickens really happy! There were also bunnies, a goat and 2 other horses for the kids to see.

The wagon ride was great. Each kid had a clipboard of items to check off as they found them. There was a skeleton, a bat, rat, hammer, spider, football helmet... Lots of things to look for. It was a nice hike for Joslin and I as we walked behind with a few other moms.

A great evening of fun at the barn.
I was so, so pleased with Patrick. He rode Nugget all by himself! He said afterward that he was a real cowboy now.

I know this picture is dark but I think it is cute anyway. I was so proud of Patrick for riding on his own.
We had a good time in the barn tonight. George and Nugget got lots of attention from Patrick...and lots of hay too. All the loose hay near the bales got picked up and fed to the boys. Patrick kept saying they needed a snack. Then he wanted to go up in the hayloft and throw down some flakes. He called "Horses!" to get them up to the barn. He was so excited each time one of them came up and around the corner of the barn. He was very sad to leave.
By the way- Joslin was there too but didn't get in any pics. She was all smiles though for each horse when they got brushed.

Sunday

While a friend is away we get to play...with her horses!
Nugget and George walked up to the gate once we arrived and got out of the car. Gypsy actually got there first but the boys drove her away before I could get a picture.

For George's mom to see. George is getting into trouble. He is working on loosing a shoe. I think it is his way of trying to get out of a ride.

A little horse therapy

Joslin and Nugget check eachother out.

Saturday afternoon we stopped out at Amy's house for some horse therapy. It was so nice and very effective! This was Joslin's first time at the barn and she was very interested in what was going on. The farrier was there too so Patrick got a chance to watch the horses get their feet done.
Patrick really likes to help brush the horses as we get them ready to ride. He is brushing Nugget. This horse is the best horse and is so good with Patrick. Patrick is still learning his own barn manners and Nugget is so forgiving with him.
Jason and Patrick return from their ride. Patrick had originally wanted to ride by himself but he decided to ride with Jason this time. Maybe next time...
Joslin on her first ride. Again- Nugget was just great with Joslin and I. We just took a short loop around the pasture and she slept the whole time. Once we got back and Nugget stopped moving she woke up.

Amy, who is afraid of babies, holds Joslin for a minute. It was funny- everytime Joslin did something Amy would ask- What is she doing? Why is she looking at me like that?
Patrick was checking out Amy's horse tree.
We stayed for dinner with Amy and Patrick wanted to keep going out to check on the horses. Even though it was dark when we left he wanted to be able to hear them munching grass and walking around.
